Future Plans

We are committed to our mission, maintaining a singular focus in our pursuit. The Inter-CARE Corporation operates on a global scale, depending on collaborative partnerships internationally. These partnerships are crucial in enabling us to accomplish our objectives aimed at alleviating poverty worldwide.

Driven by compassion, we are compelled to take action to alleviate someone else's suffering. This inclination to act distinguishes our organization, which involves understanding or sharing the feelings of others and taking proactive steps.

Utilizing our comprehensive child development model, we integrate physical, social, economic, and spiritual care to support children in poverty. Our aim is to facilitate the complete development of these children in every aspect of life, helping them transcend what is often a generational legacy of poverty.

We embrace inclusivity and show respect for others, refraining from judgment based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, race, or any other factors.

US Statistics:

As reported by the United States Census Bureau in their latest findings, as of January 2021, 37.9 million Americans were living in poverty. This figure represents 11.6% of the total population, even though America holds the position of the wealthiest nation globally in terms of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

In 2018, Poverty in the United States was home to 16.2% of all children, totaling 11.9 million kids, which equates to nearly 1 in every 6 children living in poverty. Additionally, in 2015, the National Center on Family Homelessness conducted an analysis of state-level data and discovered that, across the nation, approximately 2.5 million children face homelessness each year.

Brazil

Ola, Todo Bem? (Hello, how are you?)

Language: Portuguese

Brazil is renowned for its breathtaking natural resources and industrious population. However, it faces the challenge of a sizable portion of its impoverished population lacking access to education. Furthermore, the country is grappling with the escalating issue of child trafficking.

Our resource partners are in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and we give our gratitude to them for their collaboration, dedication, and assistance in alleviating poverty in their community.

Population: 203,062,512

Facts About Brazil:

  1. Brazil is the largest country in South America and the fifth-largest country in the world by both land area and population.
  2. The Amazon Rainforest, located in Brazil, is the largest tropical rainforest in the world and is often referred to as the "Lungs of the Earth."

Issue:

As of 2023, 28.40% of people in Brazil live in poverty.

According to a survey by UNICEF, at least 32 million Brazilian children and adolescents, accounting for 63% of the youth population, live in poverty. This statistic reflects various dimensions of the issue, impacting a significant portion of the country's young population.

During the pandemic, poverty levels in Brazil increased per a study conducted by FGV Social. The study revealed that in 2021, 62.9 million Brazilians, or 29.6% of the population, were living on a monthly per capita income of up to $497 Brazilian reis, which is roughly $100 US dollars. Over a period of two years, from 2019 to 2021, an additional 9.6 million people experienced a decline in income, joining the ranks of those living in poverty in Brazil.

Colombia

Hola, como estas? (Hello, how are you?)

Language: Spanish

Colombia is celebrated for its diverse landscape, featuring tropical beaches, dense rainforests, and towering mountains. However, it is also a nation where 30% of the population grapples with poverty, facing challenges such as food insecurity and inadequate access to education.

Our resource partners are in Barranquilla, Colombia, and we give our gratitude to them for their collaboration, dedication, and assistance in alleviating poverty in their community.

Population: 51,049,498

Facts About Colombia:

The region boasts the Amazon rainforest, the Andes Mountains, and both Caribbean and Pacific coastlines, encompassing a diverse array of ecosystems with abundant and varied plant and animal life.

  1. Colombia is the world's leading producer of high-quality emeralds.
  2. It has a rich coffee heritage and is famous for its high-quality Arabica coffee beans.
  3. The country is known for its vibrant salsa music and dance culture.

Issue:

The most impoverished individuals in Colombia predominantly reside in rural areas, with 43% experiencing food insecurity, indicating uncertainty about their next meal. In Indigenous communities along the coast, a staggering 90% of children under the age of 5 are malnourished. In addition to hunger, Indigenous populations suffer from other issues, such as forced displacement and drug trafficking.

Poverty detrimentally impacts the growth, learning, and overall development of children, hindering them from reaching their inherent potential. Effective intervention demands a comprehensive approach, which is why our child development model comprehensively addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of each child.

More than 355 million children are trapped in poverty, and we are actively working to bring about positive change.

The reality that some 5 million Colombians suffer from chronic malnutrition, and equally alarming, close to 16 million go hungry every day is “critical,” affirms the country's Food Banks, known by its acronym ÁBACO.

Class size is 40 to 50 students. Unlike American students, Colombian students cannot choose their courses.

A household can be considered middle class if it earns between USD 300 and USD 850 per month, which is USD 10 and USD 29 per day.

Mexico

Hola, Como estas? (Hello, how are you?)

Facts about Mexico:

Mexico is known for its rich culture, ancient ruins, dazzling beaches, and incredible cuisine. Tour Mayan temple ruins by day and indulge in fantastic food while listening to the rhythms of live music by night. Lounge on tropical beaches and explore the vibrant corals and marine life of the underwater world.

Although the great pyramids are well known in Egypt, Mexico is home to the world’s largest pyramid (pyramid of Cholula). The Pyramid of Cholula, often mistaken for a natural mountain, is an extraordinary example of historical layering. This monumental structure, largely concealed beneath a mountain, is surmounted by a striking construction of a church built by Spanish conquerors. This combination of the ancient pyramid and the colonial church atop it creates a unique and eye-catching landmark.

Mexico is renowned for its remarkable linguistic diversity, with 69 different languages spoken throughout the country. This wide array of languages positions Mexico as one of the world's most linguistically rich nations, showcasing a vast spectrum of cultural and ethnic heritage.

Mexico holds the distinction of having the largest number of taxis in the world, with approximately 60,000 registered taxis navigating its streets. Many of these taxis operate in the country's capital city. Additionally, Mexico is known for its relatively low taxi fares, making it one of the most affordable countries in the world for taxi services.

Issue:

In the first quarter of 2023, Mexico experienced a decrease in its working poverty rate, which is defined as the proportion of the population whose labor income is insufficient to cover the cost of the basic food basket. This rate fell to 37.7 percent, indicating a change in the economic status of those who are employed yet still struggle to meet basic nutritional needs.

We are excited to announce the launch of a new initiative in Mexico where we are collaborating with local chicken farmers. This program is designed to address crucial issues within local communities. The farmers partnering with us are committed to offering free chickens to children living in poverty in their areas, fostering a supportive and engaged community network.

By assisting families in raising chickens and selling eggs, you empower them towards self-sufficiency. This not only provides them with a steady income but also ensures a consistent source of nutritious meat and eggs, contributing to the health and well-being of their children.

By supplying chickens to children in impoverished areas, we offer them practical, hands-on business experience. This initiative teaches them responsibility and entrepreneurship, while also fostering community development and economic growth in their local areas.

Additionally, we supply feed to the families, ensuring that the chickens receive proper nourishment during their crucial early development stages. This support is vital in maintaining the health and well-being of the chickens, contributing to the sustainability of this initiative for the families involved.
